Job Title: Liquid Blends Team Member
Location: University Park, IL
Work Arrangement: Onsite
About the Role
Position function: Reporting to the Production Manager of UP Caldic North America., the individual will be responsible to complete all assigned tasks adhering to the manufacturing processes and procedures as part of the Liquid Blends team.
Scope: The Liquid Blends team member will be responsible for becoming familiar with manufacturing procedures to create products according to formulation procedures. It is expected that all tasks will be completed safely and efficiently through the use of appropriate supplies, tools and equipment specifically provided by Caldic. This position will work closely with Liquid Blends team members and the immediate lead hand/supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- To become familiar with all manufacturing procedures and the creation of products according to formulation procedures.
- To become familiar on tote sanitation processes and procedures in order to ensure tote sanitation operations are covered during any absence and/or vacation coverage.
- To become familiar with liquid receiving procedures and work with suppliers’ drivers as required
- To use WMS and other related procedures as required. Use appropriate inventory policy – i.e. FEFO – First expired first out
- To accurately produce batches of product; prepare the ingredients in advance to facilitate production efficiency.
- To present completed work orders to Quality Laboratory along with representative sample.
- To package and label product, ensuring extreme neatness, proper label and Lot number assignment.
- To ensure containers used for production and packaging are absolutely clean and presentable.
- To work with all Caldic employees in a safe and cooperative manner to ensure tasks are completed as per manufacturing procedures.
- To maintain the plant area in a clean and safe fashion representative of a food processing facility; ; If a spill occurs it is expected that all dry blends team members will assist in containing and cleaning the spill as required.
- To ensure safe use of manufacturing equipment at all times.
- To ensure safe and appropriate use of all manual and powered lift equipment.
- Provide training and instructions to assistants/ temporary workers.
- Comply with Caldic policies on hygiene, safety and quality.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, GMP’s and HACCP requirements
- Responsible for following Food Safety and Quality requirements as per Prerequisite programs, HACCP plans, CCP monitoring and SQF code.
- To attend any required training necessary for the job.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by lead hand/Supervisor.
Skills
- Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 25kg/50lbs on a regular basis
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Willing to work in a noisy work environment at all times
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Forklift, Reack truck and Walkie certification is required
- Knowledge and previous use of a handheld RF scanner considered an asset
