About the Role

Position function:   Reporting to the Operations Manager of UP Caldic, North America, the individual will be responsible to manage the manufacturing processes and procedures for the Liquid Blends and Dry Blends department.

 

Scope: The Production Manager will be responsible for leading the Liquid Blends and Dry Blends team to ensure that work orders and formulation procedures are understood and followed according to the required policy and procedures.  The Manager will ensure that all team members are knowledgeable of current, new and adapted processes and procedures so that all tasks are be completed safely and efficiently through the use of appropriate systems, tools and equipment specifically provided by Caldic.  This position will also work closely with Replenishment, Planning, Quality, Shipping and Customer Care departments to monitor and review inventory, and sales and work orders in order to address any discrepancies that could potentially impact the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be familiar with all manufacturing procedures; train, support and assist with the creation of products according to formulation procedures.
  • Direct the team to meet the production schedule and maximize departmental efficiency
  • To use WMS and other related procedures as required.  Use appropriate inventory policy – i.e. use oldest Lot number first.
  • Communicate with Planning, Replenishment, Shipping and Customer Service departments ensure work orders are completed to meet delivery dates; communicate production issues with planning and associated managers.
  • Responsible for maintaining and overseeing the Food Safety and Quality requirements HACCP plans, CCP monitoring and SQF code; Responsible for being part of the SQF Internal Auditing team, implementing and maintaining corrective/preventative action when infractions happen.
  • Provides support/back-up for Operations Manager as HACCP Senior Team Member for Food Safety / Quality responsibilities
  • To attend any required training necessary for the job.
  • Act as a backup to Operations Manager when absent

Job Requirements & Skills

  • Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of food industry related working experience
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Must have strong computer skills
  • Leadership experience a strong asset
  • Forklift, Reach truck and Walkie certification is required
