About the Role

Position function: Reporting to the Operations Director of Caldic USA Inc., the individual will have the Shipping Team (Warehouse Team and the Shipping Administrators, all 3 shifts) and Transportation Team reporting to them and be responsible to oversee all of the shipping and receiving of products and ingredients according to Caldic’s processes and procedures.

Scope: The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for leading the Shipping team to ensure that orders are picked, staged, loaded, shipped and invoiced according to Caldic’s processes and procedures. The individual will ensure that they and their team members adhere to all shipping and receiving processes and procedures so that all tasks are be completed safely and efficiently through the use of appropriate systems, tools and equipment specifically provided by Caldic. This position will also work closely with Quality, Replenishment, Production, Customer Service, Inventory Control and the Freight & Customs Team to monitor and review orders, inventory to prepare, load, deliver and receive daily orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support all shipping, receiving, and office procedures to ensure safety, productivity, and efficiency.

  • Train, guide, and manage Shipping team members; assign daily priorities and tasks.

  • Distribute and organize pick tickets; plan and prioritize orders for shipping, pick-ups, and transfers.

  • Monitor new orders to coordinate timely picking, staging, and loading.

  • Assist with daily warehouse duties including picking, receiving, and loading as needed.

  • Use WMS and follow inventory policies (e.g., FEFO); process RMAs for returned product.

  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries.

  • Approve hours, manage vacation requests, and resolve time discrepancies.

  • Address employee relations issues with support from HR or Operations Director as needed.

  • Conduct performance reviews and provide regular training.

  • Ensure plant cleanliness and compliance with hygiene, safety, and quality standards.

  • Enforce Caldic’s safety and food quality programs including HACCP, SQF, and CCP monitoring.

  • Schedule and coordinate daily customer deliveries and pick-ups by region.

  • Review pre-trip inspections, tote return forms, and driver reports; address issues promptly.

  • Approve and track driver hours, vacation, and productivity; manage related documentation.

  • Inspect fleet weekly and ensure timely repair of any damages.

  • Provide safety resources and enforce compliance with health and safety laws and procedures.

Knowledge / Skills & Experiences

  • Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years of distribution / operations experience
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory/lead hand experience.
  • Must have strong computer skills
  • Food industry related experience considered an asset
  • Leadership experience a strong asset
  • Forklift and Reach truck license is required
  • Knowledge of a warehouse management system and use of RF scanner is important
