About the Role
We are seeking a driven, proactive Key Account Manager (KAM) to join our team in the Food and Nutrition sector. This role is pivotal in driving aggressive business growth by hunting for new business opportunities and building a solid pipeline of prospective clients, alongside strengthening relationships with our key accounts.
The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for handling Caldic’s most important customer accounts. The person must build and maintain a strong relationship with each customer at all levels of the customer organization. Be the lead point-of-contact, anticipate customers’ needs, work within the company to ensure deadlines for the customer are met and help the customer succeed. The person will also bring in new businesses from existing customers and develop new relationships with potential customers.
The successful KAM should be able to draw on company resources to develop and implement strategic solutions to achieve key customers’ long-term goals, analyze customer information, data and market information to develop business and marketing strategies to strengthen the business relationship with the key account and develop mutually profitable business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
New Business Development:
- Strategically identify potential new business opportunities within the Food and Nutrition sector, expand our customer base and achieving ambitious growth targets.
- Develop and implement tactical plans to exceed sales quotas by relentlessly pursuing potential clients across assigned territories and verticals.
- Implement focused initiatives to capture new market share, moving quickly on leads and converting them into loyal customers.
Key Account Management & Relationship Building:
- Cultivate strong relationships with existing key accounts, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction and identifying additional growth opportunities.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and demonstrate how our portfolio can support and enhance their business objectives. Ensure customers receive a high level of service, plan.
Management & Growth:
- Manage a diverse customer set in the Food and Nutrition sector, with a dedicated focus on increasing market share, cross-selling and upselling within the segment.
- Create, monitor, and refine a pipeline of new customers while strategically managing existing accounts to maximize value and profitability.
- Based on customer input and your market understanding, provide high quality product forecasts for business planning and supplier needs
Technical Promotion & Support:
- Champion our Principals' and Suppliers portfolio through technical promotion, delivering product insights and recommendations to customers.
- Provide technical support and guidance, positioning yourself as an industry expert and trusted advisor.
Market Representation & Networking:
- Actively represent Caldic and our Principals at industry events, networking opportunities, and trade shows to strengthen our brand presence.
- Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities, leveraging this knowledge to refine our approach and maintain a competitive edge.
Performance Analysis & Reporting:
- Prepare and present regular reports on account performance, new business wins, and market trends.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on customer satisfaction and seamless project delivery.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science, food and nutrition or related qualifications.
- Proven experience in the food and nutrition industry with a technical background and a minimum of 5 years in Sales or Business Development.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a “hunter” sales role. Commercial knowhow in pipeline development, pricing (top and bottom line).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with customers and build long-term partnerships.
- Exceptional communication skills, a skilled negotiator and proven experience in closing the deal.
- Ability to effectively support product promotion, technical inquiries, and customer training.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze market and customer data to inform strategy.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed to meet with customers.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
- Highly focused on customer satisfaction and relationship building.
- Demonstrates a strong focus on achieving sales targets and driving growth through new customer acquisition.
- Deep knowledge of the industry and the competitive landscape.
- Skilled in both consultative selling and closing techniques to drive new business.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrates ethical decision-making and trustworthiness in all interactions.
