Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Account Manager/ Key Account Manager with experience in the specialty food ingredients industry to join our dynamic team. This role combines managing and growing existing customer accounts with a strong focus on acquiring new business opportunities. You will play a crucial role in nurturing relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving revenue growth by identifying new customers and expanding the company’s market share.

Key Responsibilities
- Account Management & Relationship Building:
- Cultivate strong relationships with existing principals, suppliers, key accounts, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction and identifying additional growth opportunities.
- Act as the primary contact for a portfolio of existing accounts, fostering long-term relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- Regularly engage with clients to understand their business needs and proactively offer solutions.
- New Customer Acquisition:
- Actively identify, prospect, and pursue new customer opportunities within the target market.
- Develop and execute strategies to expand the customer base, driving growth and establishing a strong pipeline of potential clients.
- Incremental Growth & Cross-Selling:
- Identify opportunities for incremental growth within existing accounts by promoting relevant products and services.
- Collaborate with the sales team to maximize revenue through upselling and cross-selling initiatives.
- Customer Support & Problem Resolution:
- Provide ongoing support to clients, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring their needs are met.
- Coordinate with internal teams to deliver a seamless customer experience and resolve challenges efficiently.
- Market Awareness & Feedback Gathering:
- Stay informed about industry trends and competitive activities that impact customer needs or expectations.
- Collect feedback from clients and prospects to refine product offerings and service approaches, ensuring alignment with market demand.
- Reporting & Performance Tracking:
- Track and report on account performance metrics, including customer satisfaction, account growth, and new customer acquisition progress.
- Prepare regular updates for internal stakeholders on account status, sales pipelines, and emerging opportunities.

Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology/ Food Science or related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in account management and business development within the Specialty Food industry with at least 5-8 years in a customer-facing role.
- Business Development Skills: Strong ability to acquire new customers, including prospecting, lead generation, and closing sales.
- Relationship Management: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Sales Skills: Consultative selling approach with experience in both upselling to existing clients and developing new accounts.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Analytical Ability: Ability to assess client needs and translate them into actionable strategies.
- Customer Focus: Commitment to customer success and satisfaction.
- Tools: Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
