New Product Development Technologist Meat

About the Role

The New Product Development Technologist Meat will reinforce the Italian Food Ingredients Applications Laboratory Team and contribute to the development of expansion of commercial sales activities with customers and prospects.

Responsibility covers both product and process development and internal excellence around developed products.

In this role you can make a difference and collaborate to deliver outcomes that add real value for both customers and partners.

Main responsibilities:

• Drive, distribute and develop the company's product development function
• Product care including optimization and improvement of existing product portfolio
• Develop new formulations, testing ingredients and benchmark competitors to meet the innovative requirements of existing and potential customers
• Review existing product formulations and identifying opportunities for product
• Facility the creation of specifications, customized and general
• Perform and evaluate nutritional value calculations, internal & external analyzes, sensory control, sustainability tests
• Coordinating and prioritizing complete projects and ensure that they stay within the timing and budget
• Follow trends and market development and drive innovations & concept development
• Marketing product ideas and product development services internally and externally
• Responsible for ensuring that correct information concerning product parameters are updated in our documentations for our own Caldic products
• Work closely together with the Sales, NPD colleagues, production and external suppliers/customers

Job Requirements

Competencies

Experience / Special competences / personal skills

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Food Technology or a similar educational background
• Good knowledge of ingredients and raw materials (functionality and food risks)
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on product development experience in the food savory industry - meat
• Good communication skills in Italian and English, both verbal and written
• Pro-active attitude and comfortable working in a dynamic organization with changing demands and circumstances
• Ability to transform ideas and briefings from sales or customers into instant solutions that take into account production circumstances/issues
• Eager to learn about new market developments and developments and opportunities at customers and willing to invest in those topics
• Personal skills: creative, being able to think out of the box, analytic, flexible, initiator, team player, self-starting and customer oriented
• Willing to evolve in a challenging environment and matrix organization
• Collaboration and communication skills - The position has both internal and external contacts
