About the Role

Position function: Reporting to the Controller of Caldic North America, this individual will be a member of the accounting team, responsible for managing all bank reconciliations for both Caldic USA and Caldic Canada.

Scope: The Jr. Accountant is responsible for the daily bank reconciliations of Caldic North America.The Junior Accountant is responsible for performing daily bank reconciliations for Caldic North America. Key duties include recording direct withdrawals, following up on returned items, and ensuring timely resolution of all reconciling items.

Key Responsibilities

• On a daily basis, performing bank reconciliation of Caldic USA and Caldic Canada
• Complete the monthly bank reconciliation by the 1st of every month
• Resolving reconciling items on the bank reconciliation
• Journalizing the direct withdrawals from the bank
• Investigating bank issues with various finance individuals in the finance team
• Record the monthly payroll and WSIB accruals
• Support for Controller and Finance staff when necessary
• Complete all other duties as assigned by Controller
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, GMP’s and HACCP requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• College/University diploma/degree in Finance or Accounting.
• 2 years’ of accounting experience
• Strong communication skills
• Interacts professionally at all levels both internally and externally
• Ability to give strong attention to detail and accuracy of work
• Time management and adaptable to change is important
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel
