Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Boston

Work Arrangement: Remote

About the Role

We’re growing and looking for a hunter‑minded Business Development Manager ready to ignite growth across a high‑potential territory. If you thrive on building powerful relationships, opening new doors, and capturing high‑margin opportunities within GMP manufacturing environments, this role puts you at the center of the action.  This is an exceptional opportunity for someone deeply connected in the pharma/biotech ecosystem, fluent in cGMP materials and processes, and driven by winning new business in highly regulated, fast‑moving industries.

Brand‑Nu Laboratories (a Caldic Company) stands as a global, highly respected presence in high‑purity chemicals, raw material distribution, and customized solutions powering the life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, semiconductor, and medical device sectors. For more than 65 years, we’ve partnered with the world’s most innovative organizations to accelerate breakthroughs—enabling faster development of vaccines, monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, and cell and gene therapies.

Our operations are fully cGMP‑compliant (ICH Q7) and ISO 9001:2015 certified, backed by the extensive reach and resources of the global Caldic network. With the North Carolina pharma cluster experiencing explosive expansion, we’re growing our Business Development team to strengthen strategic partnerships with leading biopharma manufacturers and CDMOs across RTP and beyond.  If you’re energized by growth, inspired by innovation, and motivated by the opportunity to shape the future of advanced therapeutics, we want to talk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospecting & New Business Acquisition – Identify, qualify, and secure new accounts within pharma/biotech/CDMO manufacturing throughout the Northeast
  • Territory Growth Strategy – Develop and execute a sales plan aligned with Brand-Nu’s EBITDA and revenue goals
  • Account Development – Build trusted, long-term relationships with key decision-makers (Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Technical Ops)
  • Solution Selling – Partner with sourcing, technical, and operations teams to deliver customized solutions (e.g., repackaging, logistics, supply agreements)
  • Pipeline Management – Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, forecasting, and customer data in CRM
  • Market Engagement – Represent Brand-Nu at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events to build visibility and credibility
  • Regulatory & Technical Knowledge – Stay current on GMP compliance requirements, regulatory trends, and competitor activity

Skills

  • Demonstrated success as a hunter with a strong track record of acquiring new accounts and exceeding targets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong collaboration skills

Job Requirements

  • Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field
    • 5+ years of business development or technical sales experience in pharma/biologics/biotech, CDMO, or regulated manufacturing environments
    • Knowledge of cGMP/cGxP manufacturing requirements and experience selling to GMP production facilities
    • Established relationships within the territory
    • Willingness to travel 40-50% within the region.

    Preferred:

    • Advanced degree (MBA, MS) or equivalent industry experience
    • Experience in raw materials, excipients, buffers, or high-purity solvents for pharma/biotech production
    • Familiarity with supply agreements, long-term contracts, and global sourcing processes
