About the Role

We are seeking a driven, proactive Key Account Manager to join our Enzyme Solutions team. This role is pivotal in driving business growth by hunting for new business opportunities and building a solid pipeline of prospective clients, alongside strengthening relationships with our key accounts and develop and promote, through technical expertise and service, the Enzyme Solutions’ product portfolio for the purpose of increasing sales and profitability/margin to new and existing customers. 

 

The Key Account Manager is responsible for handling Caldic’s Enzymes Solutions’ most important customer accounts, including strategic accounts.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Business Manager Enzyme Solutions and delivering on the KPIs set, the Key Account Manager is responsible for, but not limited to:

 

Business Development & Growth:

  • Strategically identify, qualify and convert opportunities in target markets for Enzyme Solutions to expand customer base and achieve growth targets.
  • Develop new business solutions for targeted major accounts from existing customer base and new opportunities particularly in food processing, cleaning, protein processing, nutraceuticals and waste management.
  • Lead the growth of Digestive Aid Branded Products into Asia.
  • Manage a diverse customer set in Enzyme Solutions, with a dedicated focus on increasing market share, growth of branded products, cross-selling and upselling within the segment.
  • Create, monitor, and refine a pipeline of new customers while strategically managing existing accounts to maximize value and profitability.

 

Key Account Management & Relationship Building: 

  • Professional and due diligence account management to ensure customers receive a high level of service, plus cultivate strong relationships with existing key accounts to identify additional growth opportunities.
  • Build strong supplier and customer relationships and maintain regular, personal contact with key accounts.
  • Comply with Dynamics Adoption requirements including updating and developing customer activity, call reporting, opportunity development, competitor activity etc.
  • Create and maintain a customer intelligence database detailing all significant customer, potential customer and competitor activities.
  • Partner with customers to plan and deliver accurate sales forecasts and budgets.

 

Technical Services, Promotion & Support:

  • Actively contribute to Caldic’s Enzyme Solutions’ commitment to food safety and quality and maintenance of food safety and quality certifications including FSSC22000.
  • Be familiar with company's food safety and quality policy, food safety and quality objectives, quality procedures and work instructions.
  • Liaise with international technical support groups to deliver accurate information in relation to sales enquiries and new developments.

 

Market Representation & Networking:

  • Actively represent Enzyme Solutions at industry events and presentations, networking opportunities, conferences and trade shows to strengthen our brand presence.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities, leveraging this knowledge to refine our approach and maintain a competitive edge.

 

General:

  • Prepare and present regular reports on account performance, new business wins, and market trends.
  • Manage costs within the budgetary constraints as set by the Business Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to successfully undertake this role.

Skills

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical, food science or related qualifications, coupled with significant experience in enzyme development and technical sales.
  • Sales Drive: Strong commercial acumen with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a “hunter” sales role. Proven ability to convert business development opportunities into commercial transactions. Commercial knowhow in pipeline development, pricing (top and bottom line) etc.
  • Relationship Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with customers and build long-term partnerships. Proven abiity to work both autonomously and as part of a team to develop relationships with targeted key accounts
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, a skilled negotiator and proven experience in closing the deal.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze market and customer data to inform strategy and customer’s technical problems and advise on products that best suits their requirements.
  • Highly developed project management skills.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and hold a valid and current driver's licence.
  • Tool: Proficiency in MS Office, JDE and CRM software.
