About the Role
Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven Key Account Manager (KAM) to support the growth of our Material Sciences business in Japan, covering Adhesives, Sealants, Construction (CASC) and Industrial Solutions (IS) segments.
This role is responsible for driving new business development and expanding existing key accounts, while managing strategic relationships with both customers and principals/suppliers. The KAM will play a critical role in strengthening Caldic’s position in the Japan market by leveraging its portfolio and identifying new product and application opportunities.
The successful candidate combines a strong sales drive, market insight, and technical understanding, and is capable of acting as a trusted partner to customers across the Material Sciences industry.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development (40%):
• Identify and develop new business opportunities across CASC and IS markets in Japan
• Build and manage a strong sales pipeline aligned with business growth targets
• Develop prospecting plans to acquire new customers and expand market coverage
• Translate market trends and customer needs into actionable commercial opportunities
Key Account & Principal Management (60%):
• Manage and grow relationships with key accounts and strategic principals/suppliers
• Drive revenue growth by expanding share of wallet within existing customers
• Identify product and application opportunities in collaboration with suppliers
• Position Caldic’s portfolio effectively based on customer needs and technical requirements
Technical Promotion & Support:
• Promote Material Sciences portfolio through technical discussions and solution-based selling
• Support customers with product knowledge, application insights, and value propositions
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments
• Represent Caldic at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events
Sales Execution & Reporting
• Achieve sales targets including revenue growth, gross margin, and pipeline development
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reporting in CRM
• Provide regular updates on performance, opportunities, and market insights
Collaboration
• Work closely with internal teams (marketing, supply chain, technical, regulatory, finance)
• Ensure seamless customer experience and project execution
• Align portfolio strategy with market needs and customer expectations
Job Requirements
Position Requirements & Key Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Business, or related fields
- 5–10 years of sales experience in Material Sciences, including Coatings, Adhesives, Construction, or Industrial Solutions, preferably in a distribution environment
- Proven track record in new business development and key account management
- Strong commercial mindset with ability to drive revenue growth and profitability

- Strong commercial acumen with ability to identify opportunities, build pipeline, and convert into revenue
- Proven ability to build and manage long-term relationships with customers and principals/suppliers
- Solid technical understanding of Material Sciences products and applications, with ability to translate into customer value
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in Japanese and business-level English
- Results-driven, with strong ownership and ability to work independently
- Agile, collaborative, and solution-oriented mindset
- Good understanding of the Material Sciences market and competitive landscape
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems
